Lois Ellen Doyle (Snaith)
April 20, 1936 – September 5, 2021
Following a three year battle with leukemia and beating all odds, our resilient and beautiful Mom Lois passed away at Prince of Peace Manor in Calgary, AB.
Lois was born in Exshaw, AB and grew up surrounded by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Throughout her life Lois made the Kananaskis, Banff and Jasper National Parks her playground either hiking their many trails, exploring their snow covered beauty cross-country skiing, or rapidly descending the many world class ski resorts of the Rockies.
In 1958 Lois graduated from University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education. She taught high school for the Calgary Board of Education between 1958 and 1994, retiring from Crescent Heights High School. Lois was passionate about literature and shared her love of English creating lasting memories with teachers and students alike. Lois continued her graduate studies at both University of Calgary and UCLA.
Lois raised two loving sons, Sean and Jason who shared many interests with their mom, such as a love of football and the outdoors. Lois loved her grandchildren Katelyn, Hailey and Nathan keeping track of their interests and accomplishments. She travelled to Newmarket many times to visit and enjoy their company and prominently displayed their photos in her home. She also loved her many grand-dogs who brought many smiles to Lois in her final days.
