Lauri Dauter

March 12, 1956 – February 16, 2022

Lauri Dauter of Calgary, Alberta passed away on February 16, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

Lauri leaves behind her devoted, beloved husband and best friend, Manfred, who was always by her side. She also leaves her adored son Brendan McAllister, daughter-in-law Melissa, and grandson Isaac, who brought so much enjoyment and were the centre of Lauri’s life. Her precious cat Olivia was her constant companion.

Lauri will be forever remembered by her loving mother Margaret Comfort, brother Brent Cochrane (Linda), sister Alix Cochrane, and father Barry Cochrane (Patricia). Lauri will be sadly missed by her extended family, aunties and uncles, and a host of cousins and good friends.

Lauri was a native of Calgary and graduated from High School at Sir Winston Churchill. She went on to receive her teaching degree at the University of Calgary. Lauri’s kind and warm nature made her a natural teacher. She had a love of learning and passed this gift on to her students and colleagues.

Lauri had the ability to appreciate the simpler things in life, whether it was sharing a meal with family, having a coffee with friends, or enjoying a glass of wine at the end of the day. The small moments for Lauri were never taken for granted. Lauri lived her life with a sense of grace, gentleness, and strength, and her memory will live on through our efforts to live our lives to the fullest.

Lauri was a beautiful daughter, the sweetest sister, a loving wife, a wonderful and devoted mom, a proud grandmother, and a loyal friend.

The family would like to give their sincere thanks to Alison and Doreen for their friendship and care for Lauri.

A celebration of life ceremony will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Calgary Humane Society in memory of Lauri.
