Calgary Philharmonic Open Rehearsal, May 10, 2024

Description of Activity:

Brilliant Bassoon

Antoine St-Onge is the Principal Bassoonist in our Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. In
June 2018, he joined the CPO at the age of 23. He will showcase the bassoon’s
expressive capabilities as he plays his Benson Bell bassoon made in Ontario.
Grammy award-winning conductor Karen Kamensek will be our guest conductor.
Enjoy Carl Maria Von Weber’s Bassoon Concerto, written in two weeks!
William Walton’s Symphony No. 1 in B-flat Minor is a work of searing intensity inspired
by his fiery love affair with Baroness Imma Doernberg.
Join us for a relaxing morning of music at this final CPO open rehearsal of the season.
