DELL, Ruth Annebelle (née Bornowsky) April 14, 1949, High Prairie, AB-July 5, 2021, Edmonton

Predeceased by parents Joseph and Jean. Survived by husband Raymond, (stepchildren Kirt, Kendra), brother Dell Bornowsky (Susan), nephew Elijah, and former spouse George Benda.

From her childhood farm home near Kinuso, Ab., Ruth attended U of A, and U of C: earning a BSc. (1970) and then a BEd. She taught school in Sexsmith Ab., and in Crescent Heights and Western Canada High Schools, Calgary, where she became the science curriculum leader. She took special delight leading field trips to Bamfield, B.C., and teaching in the International Baccalaureate program. Ruth inspired many students to pursue careers in science and medicine: as a biologist and teacher Ruth was active in anti-cancer HPV vaccination promotion.

International travels took her to Germany, Scotland, and England and the USA.

Ruth married Raymond Dell in 2008 and they moved from Calgary to Edmonton in 2014.
