At our September 2022 Board of Directors meeting a decision was
reached to discontinue the “Remembering” section of our website. While
it saddens
us to do so, we feel compelled to take this step
for several reasons. One reason is our need to comply with government regulations regarding privacy of information. In addition, we are concerned for our members and the growing number of reported “grandparent scams”.
We are particularly concerned about those perpetrators who seem to be
utilizing information gleaned from online obituaries to enhance their
ability to impersonate younger family members and defraud grieving
widows and widowers. Therefore, the Board of Directors has decided to no longer publish the Remembering section on our website.
