Edna Benedetti passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the age of 98 years. Edna was a native Calgarian; a teacher by trade but she had many passions during a life well-lived. Edna graduated with a Teaching degree from the University of Alberta and spent several years teaching in Calgary. She had a passion for travel and fondly recalled her tours to Russia, China, and Egypt. Edna had an abundant love for animals and animal welfare. One of her favourite past-times was attending the horse races. Edna enjoyed nature, especially Banff and the Rocky Mountains. She loved going for walks on the hill behind her house in Parkdale and took great pride in her garden. Edna often spoke of growing up in Hillhurst and spending time at Riley Park with her siblings. She enjoyed spoiling her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edna is survived by her daughter Lesley Grant; her grandchildren, Spencer Grant (Susi) and Sarah Grant (Tim); and her great-grandchildren, Jordan Grant, Brennan Bechtold, Aubrey Bechtold and Hailey Grant. She is also survived by her niece Lyn (Bill) Eshom; and her nephew Terry (Peggy) Rowe. Edna was predeceased by her siblings, Ethel Rowe, Olive Morrow and Jack Rowe; son-in-law Don Grant; and nephew David Rowe.
